BIOGRAPHY

Everything started in late 2000 after the disbanding of the first line-up of Crossover and based in Alexandroupolis/Evros in North Greece. Back then, the band was called Warfare. As they realized during the summer of 2002 that this name was already taken, they decided to adopt the moniker Overgarven. (Overgarven is also the name of the uniform soldiers wear to protect themselves against chemical weapons.) In May 2003, the recording of the band's first promo CD took place. "Promo 2003" was recorded at Nemesis studios in Kavala and is already starting to bring about encouraging reviews. In 2004, Jimmy (ex-Crossover) replaces Teo, and later in september 2004, Thodoris replaces Jimmy. Overgarven with a new line up enter the studio in the middle of 2007 to record their debut album “Just A Fake” including 10 tracks of Melodic Heavy/Trash Metal with brutal vocals in the veins of Rotting Christ with heavy metal influences. All members participated in the composing process. In late 2008 Dick “Hammer” Nick leaves the band for his own personal reasons and a new talented musician as a season member took his place only for the Live Performances of the band. At the end of 2009 the band enter again the studio for their new album “Depopulation” which will be realeased in the middle of 2010. Lyrics are all written by Kostas.
The band performed Live as support with Major bands like Tankard, Septic Flesh, Rotting Christ, Dismember, Orphaned Land, Mystic Prophecy, Ensiferum, Grave and share the stage with many other bands all these years.
